The 2009 VMA's is where Kanye West delivered one of his famous rants. Jason Rodriguez gives a summary on how Kanye West sent the teenage country star, Taylor Swift, to tears after he cut her off during her acceptance speech and began talking about how Beyonce had "one of the best videos of all time." Rodriguez tells us that this wasn't the first time he has crashed the VMA's, just 2 years earlier, Kanye West "lost his temper after he was displeased with his performance being set inside a hotel suite rather than on the shows main stage." After Kanye gave the microphone back to Taylor Swift, the crowd began cheering for Taylor Swift and booing Kanye for being disrespectful and extremely rude. Surprisingly, Wale supported Kanye West's rant and said that "You can't blame a man for speaking his mind."
I thought this event was really funny because of its irony. Who on earth would interrupt someone during their acceptance speech? Only rapper Kanye West would do such a thing. After this event, people started creating all sorts of things to parody the event. A new quiz on Facebook was created titled "Where will Kanye interrupt you?" This quiz just has you fill out some questions and then it decides when Kanye West will interrupt you. Some possible interruption times are during childbirth, during your wedding, and some others. I'm glad that Kanye West did this horrible thing because it gives us a lot to joke about.
